American Ryan Moore insists he is feeling good about his game as he prepares to defend his one-shot lead going into the final round of the John Deere Classic.

Moore, 2.00 to win the event, maintained his recent form and his third-round 65 at TPC Deere Run pushed him into the lead with just 18 holes to go.

Fellow Americans Ben Martin and Morgan Hoffmann are tied on 17-under par while Johnson Wagner sits alone in fourth on 14-under par.

Moore made six birdies in a bogey-free round in Illinois as the majority of the field took advantage of the improved weather.

Torrential rain has caused delays all week but Moore believes conditions on Sunday are still going to help people shoot low scores.

The 33-year-old admits his work with coach Brian Chandler has made a huge improvement to his game and he now believes he can kick on and claim the title.

He told the PGATour.com: “He’s been helping me rehab some stuff that’s been bothering me for a long time that I kind of worked on but never really got sorted out.

“The left ankle was the big one of those. We’ve been working on some simple stuff that’s really annoying, but it keeps making it feel good and better.

He’s been huge as to why I feel the way I do right now. “This golf course, the way it’s playing right now, obviously there were some great scores this afternoon.

“The wind laid down those last nine holes, and you could definitely make some birdies out there, and quite a few guys did. That’s how this tournament goes when it rains and gets a little bit soft, so we’ll see how it goes.”
