Rod Pampling produced the goods on Sunday as he won his first PGA Tour title in more than 10 years at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas.

Pampling had shocked all of his rivals on Thursday as he claimed a first-round lead with a stunning display before dropping off after third round.

A round of 71 had seen him fall two shots behind former US Open champion Lucas Glover but the Australian showed plenty of determination to fight back during his final 18 holes.

He made four birdies on his front nine while playing partners Brooks Koepka and Glover struggled to gain any momentum.

Both Pampling and Glover exchanged birdies and bogeys in a tense finish but Koepka then rallied late to setup a tense finish in Las Vegas.

After errors on the last, neither Glover or Koepka could force a play-off and Australian Pampling held on to win his first title since the Bay Hill Invitational in March 2006.

Speaking after his win, he told reporters: “It’s a great feeling. It’s amazing. It’s extremely rewarding.

Winning Arnold Palmer’s event in ’06 is still on top but coming back from what we had the last few years is phenomenal.”

Pampling eventually finished on 20-under par, with Koepka two shots back after a round of 67.

Glover finished on his own in third while Francesco Molinari, Harris English and Geoff Ogilvy all moved up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for fourth.
