Sebastian Vettel believes everything is in place to see Ferrari produce a strong performance this weekend in Malaysia.

It has been another mixed year for the Scuderia, with reliability issues often undermining their pace and they have once again been forced to watch Mercedes dominate.

Red Bull are the only team other than the Silver Arrows to have taken the chequered flag this season but Vettel’s recent drive in Singapore has given him plenty of confidence.

After a suspension issue hindered him in qualifying, the German came from the back of the grid to finish fifth at the Marina Bay Circuit.

Only a questionable strategy call stopped team-mate Kimi Raikkonen making the podium and the team will be hoping to continue their momentum at this weekend’s meeting in Malaysia.

Vettel won at the Sepang International Circuit last year and is currently 11.00 to repeat the trick, with Lewis Hamilton the 2.05 favourite and championship leader Nico Rosberg priced at 2.30.

The four-time world champion is confident Ferrari are heading in the right direction and believes everything can come together for them this weekend in Kuala Lumpur.

“I think if we get everything right then we know we have a strong package, for sure,” Vettel said.

“There have been a lot of races where we didn’t do that; some was up to us, some was up to stuff that happened, but for sure it didn’t end up so far the way we wanted and we’re not yet where we want to be. But I think we believe in ourselves.”
