Romain Grosjean is confident that he can secure a third podium place for Lotus this season when the Formula One campaign resumes in Singapore next weekend.

The French driver has enjoyed third-placed finishes in both Bahrain and Germany so far, but has had to settle for respective sixth-placed finishes in more recent outings in the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix.

However, Grosjean feels the Lotus E21 car will be more suited to the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore and he is looking to get amongst the frontrunners.

He will also be boosted by the fact that team-mate Kimi Raikkonen holds the lap record at the venue from 2008.

He said: “It’s a very high downforce track and that seems to suit us best as we saw in Budapest.

“In terms of the tyres I think we should be looking good too. Certainly, we should be able to perform stronger than at the last two races, which haven’t always suited our car.”

Grosjean added: “I’ll be pushing to do the very best job I can and I know the race team and everyone at Enstone wants to finish this season with the strongest results possible, so naturally we want to get back on the podium as much as possible.”
