Henrikh Mkhitaryan is relishing the prospect of playing alongside fellow summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United in the coming campaign.
The duo made high profile switches to Old Trafford earlier this summer as Ibrahimovic joined as a free agent after his deal with Paris Saint-Germain came to an end and Mkhitaryan completed a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund.
New manager Jose Mourinho says the ex-BVB star is the “creative” signing he had been looking for this summer and the United boss will hope the pair can form an effective partnership.
Mkhitaryan is looking forward to linking-up with former the former Barcelona and AC Milan star in Manchester and he feels it will be “easy” to work with the Swede due to his quality.
“He’s an amazing player,” said Mkhitaryan, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. “The name says everything for himself, the words are just, like, no matter. No comment.
I think for me it will be easy to play with him because he is a high-quality player, he knows how to keep the ball, how to play with it and how to create space for the others so I’m waiting to work with him.”
United have also signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal this summer and more incomings, and outgoings, are expected before the transfer window closes as Mourinho continues to reshape a squad that finished a disappointing fifth in the Premier League last season.
United are 4.50 to win the Premier League outright and 1.73 to win their season opener at Bournemouth on August 14.
