West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed he has a draft list of players he would like to bring to Upton Park in the summer transfer window.

The list at the moment has not been put in ink, as the Hammers at present are not guaranteed to be playing Premier League football next season.

But with seven points between themselves and the relegation zone it’s not likely to be long before Allardyce is given the green light to start working on bringing fresh faces to the club this summer.

He said: “The reality for us is this; we’re not mathematically safe so we can’t put any of our plans into practice. We have the first draft, if you like, but we can’t react on any of that at the moment.

“Our list in each position is accumulated and then you try and start to move forward on that list. It’s a constant merry-go-round that we have to deal with in the difficult summer months.”

A lack of goals and creativity in the middle of the park has certainly been an issue for West Ham this season and Allardyce will be keen to address those issues over the summer months.

Before then the club must guarantee top-flight football next season and a win over West Brom on Saturday would do just that.

The Hammers are 3.95 to win the game.
