Thibaut Courtois has been linked with a move away from Chelsea at regular intervals in recent months but the keeper insists he is not planning to leave Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international enjoyed a three-year loan at Atletico Madrid between 2011 and 2014, winning the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Europa League during his time at the Vicente Calderon.

There have been claims Courtois is keen on a return to Atleti while Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest.

There were reports Los Blancos tried to sign Courtois in the summer but the 24-year-old insists he never had any contact with Real, and he intends to stick with Chelsea for the time being.

He told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope: “I never had anything with Real Madrid. I did not see anything published, but I never had any contact with Real Madrid.

“I am happy at Chelsea. Everything is going very well – it is a great club. There is no reason not to be happy at Chelsea.

You never know what will happen in the future, but at the moment I am very well, in a very good atmosphere.”

Chelsea are currently second in the Premier League, a point behind leaders Liverpool, and Courtois is eager to claim the top domestic prize again after helping the Blues land the title in the 2014-15 campaign.

He added: “The team is doing well right now. I want to win the title with Chelsea.” Chelsea are 3.60 to win the Premier League outright this season, Manchester City are 3.10 and Spurs are 17.00.

The Blues travel to Middlesbrough after the international break and they are 1.50 to leave the Riverside Stadium with all three points, or 6.50 to win 2-0.
