Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is facing budget constraints in the upcoming transfer market, unlike some of his rivals such as Manchester City and Arsenal. As a result, he plans to sell certain players to free up funds for new arrivals and strengthen the squad. Despite the good work ten Hag has done, he recognizes the need for reinforcements if the team is to compete for silverware next season.

One of the players ten Hag is reportedly considering selling is Harry Maguire, the club captain. Maguire, who joined Manchester United four years ago for £80 million, saw limited playing time last season and has fallen down the pecking order in the center-back position.

Another player on the potential sell list is Fred, whose contract is entering its final year. The Brazilian midfielder, valued at around £30 million, has attracted interest from clubs like Fulham.

Additionally, Anthony Elanga, a young winger who struggled for playing time last season, is expected to leave the club. Everton and Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in the Swedish player.

Ten Hag has already made one signing in the transfer window, with Mason Mount joining Manchester United in a £60 million move from Chelsea. The England international has signed a five-year contract and is set to earn £240,000 per week. However, with half of his £120 million budget already spent, ten Hag needs to be strategic in his remaining signings.
