Swansea boss Garry Monk says he will pick a strong starting XI for the Capital One Cup trip to Hull.

The Swans boss made wholesale changes for the 3-0 victory over York in the previous round but Monk has indicated he isn’t planning as many alterations for the clash with Championship promotion-hopefuls Hull City.

Monk is keen to make use of his squad for the cup date at the KC Stadium but he stressed he will pick a team he feels will be able to progress to the next round.

“We’ll have to assess the players so I can make a judgement on who should be playing up there,” he told reporters.

“There will be a few bumps and bruises from the Everton game but we want to go up there strong and try and win that game.

“I’m sure there will be some changes but whether it’s the amount I made for York I don’t know.”

He added: “Whatever team I select it is to win the game.

“It doesn’t matter who’s been involved and who’s had game-time or not, selection is all about who I feel can help us.

“When I look at the squad in training I will see who’s fresh and who’s ready to go for the game on Tuesday.”

Summer signings Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Franck Tabanou and Eder are among those pushing for a place in Monk’s side for the trip to Hull.

Swansea are 2.40 to win at Hull, the hosts can be backed at 2.80 and a draw is 3.20.
