Swansea boss Garry Monk has been named the Premier League manager of the month for August.
The Swans have kicked off the 2014-15 season with three straight wins including the impressive 2-1 opening-day victory at Manchester United.
Monk’s men then went on to beat both Burnley and West Brom at the Liberty Stadium, keeping clean sheets in both games.
“We have made a great start, but that’s all it is – a start,” the 35-year-old told the club’s website. “There will be ups and downs but we will make sure that we maintain our standards and that should see us achieve a good season.
“All three games have had everything in terms of performance, which is very pleasing, but we have to continue improving.
“Against Manchester United it was a very good team performance while we had to show a different side to our game against Burnley where we had to really dig in and show our defensive qualities during the second half.
“The West Brom game saw us show our quality by getting on the front foot and using our possession. We created many chances and scored some very good few goals.
“But we still have to improve and there is a lot of work to do. The main thing is that the players are willing to do just that.”
Swansea put their 100% winning start on the line against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues have also won all three of their opening Premier League games this season and are 1.29 to keep the run going in west London. The Swans are 10.50 for an away win and the draw is 5.01.
