Liverpool striker Luis Suarez believes the next few weeks could make or break the club’s chances of mounting a serious challenge for the Premier League title this season.
The Reds currently sit in second place in the table, with just two points between themselves and frontrunners Arsenal, ahead of their clash with Cardiff City at Anfield on Saturday.
Suarez has been in scintillating form since returning from suspension at the start of the campaign and is now sitting pretty at the top of the goalscoring rankings with 17 to his name so far.
Despite his superb start to the season, the Uruguay international is not willing to get too carried away and feels the next few games will have a significant impact on where Liverpool end up come May.
He said: “If we continue this level the next two or three weeks we can win the league or we can finish in the top four.
“It’s important we concentrate and focus on the next game. We know that after Cardiff we have two very big games.
“That will be important to what comes next.”
The challenges Suarez speaks of are two mouth-watering Premier League encounters with Manchester City and Chelsea after their clash with the Bluebirds this weekend.
Manager Brendan Rodgers and his side will certainly see where they rank among the title chasers after those two battles with City and Chelsea, in what is an important month for the Reds as they look to bring Champions League football back to Anfield this term.
