Former England international Steven Gerrard admits a decision has yet to be made on his immediate future but there is a possibility he will play on for another season.

Gerrard ended his long association with Liverpool last year and made the switch to the MLS, signing an 18-month contract with LA Galaxy.

The 36-year-old midfielder has been a regular fixture in the first team since arriving in America but there are still doubts over his future at the club.

His current deal expires in November and, as of yet, there has yet to be an extension offered and his short stint in Major League Soccer is expected to end.

A return to the Premier League is a possibility although it is unlikely Reds boss Jurgen Klopp would sanction a move, having built a strong, youthful-looking squad at Anfield.

Liverpool are right in the hunt for the title this season and they are priced at 6.00 to lift the trophy following Saturday’s 2-1 away victory at Swansea City.

Gerrard is still contemplating what he will do next but there is a strong possibility he will continue playing for at another campaign.

“I’m wondering whether I should play on for a little bit longer or whether I should call it a day. I haven’t 100 per cent decided on that yet,”

he told Liverpool-based radio station Radio City Talk.

“I still enjoy playing. I still love coming into training, I still love competing, so if I can carry on and there are opportunities to stay here, or go somewhere else for another six months or 12 months, then I’ll consider it.”

Going into coaching is another road Gerrard has mentioned and a potential link-up with England could come about with the national set-up needing a revamp after recent events.
