Spanish forward Michu is uncertain what the future holds for him after seeing his loan spell with Napoli ruined by ongoing ankle problems.
The 29-year-old has featured just a handful of times for the Serie A outfit since joining from Swansea City last summer and has been sidelined since late October by an ankle operation similar to one he needed while still with the Swans.
And, having missed much of the last 18 months with his ankle issues, the former Rayo Vallecano man is trying to focus on the here and now and not what might transpire further down the line.
He told Marca: “I don’t think the club will exercise the option (to keep me), seeing as I was injured for so long, but my only desire is to help Napoli in this final portion of the campaign.
“I want to prove that I can do good things and be useful for the team until the end of this season.”
“Will I return to Swansea? I really don’t know, the truth is I’m not thinking of my future right now.”
Napoli have fallen to sixth place in the Italian league on the back of a run of five games without a win, a slump which has seen them fall behind both Fiorentina and Sampdoria in the race to secure at least a Europa League place.
The Neapolitans are still in the Coppa Italia and host Lazio in the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday, with the tie poised at 1-1 after the first leg in Rome.
Napoli can be backed at 2.15 to win the second leg, with Lazio 3.25.
