Scott Sinclair insists both he and his Celtic team-mates are full of confidence heading into Saturday’s Old Firm clash with Rangers.

The Bhoys have now rallied after an indifferent start to the campaign and Wednesday’s 4-3 success at Aberdeen sees them three points clear of their Glasgow rivals at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings.

They also have a game in hand and victory over Steven Gerrard’s men would see daylight open up between the clubs at the turn of the year.

Sinclair was in red-hot form against the Dons, bagging a hat-trick as the Celts edged a thriller to keep their noses in front, and the former Manchester City and Swansea star is clearly buzzing.

He said: “Personally, you can’t do much better than a hat-trick when it comes to confidence going into the next game.”

The Hoops will face a Gers outfit that have drawn two of their past three league matches and appear to be hanging on to Celtic’s coattails.

It is sure to be a feisty derby where form will go out of the window, and the 29-year-old has made it clear that the men in green and white are well up for the challenge and gunning for all three points.

“As a team, we’re all in good spirits in the camp and we are all going to be ready for the weekend,” added Sinclair.

“Every match we go into, we want to win and I enjoy the big games. All the players are up for it.”

Celtic are priced at 2.00 to win the game, with Rangers on offer at 3.80 and the draw 3.40.
