Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic insists he needs to use his head more after scoring his first goal of the new season in the Scottish Premiership.

The Australia international helped the Hoops grab all three points on Saturday as Brendan Rodgers’ men beat Livingston 3-1 at Celtic Park. Rogic scored the opening goal of the game when he latched on to a Jonny Hayes cross.

Despite his continued success, Rogic admits he needs to do more in the box after scoring his first headed goal for the Hoops. Rogic has scored over 20 goals in five years and admits he will do everything he can to improve that aspect of his game.

“It was my first header for the club,” Rogic told the club website. “It was a great ball. Jonny gives you that, and sometimes his touch and delivery is half a second quicker than some players.

I just wanted to get on to the end of it and thankfully it went in. “Maybe for my size I should score a few more headers. It’s something I’ve been working on so it was nice to get the rewards of that, and hopefully I’ll be able to add a few more for the club in the future. “It’s a bit of a joke with some of the boys but the most important thing was the win and it was nice to score as well.”

Rogic is expected to start Wednesday’s Champions League tie with AEK Athens. Celtic to win and both teams to score has now been boosted to 5.00.
