Sadio Mane is hoping to continue his goalscoring exploits for new-club Liverpool after his brilliant debut striker in the 4-3 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Mane, who arrived at Anfield from Southampton this summer for over £30million, made his full Premier League debut for the club and was one of the best players on the pitch at the Emirates.

The Senegal international looked busy throughout the match and was rewarded for his hard work when he found the back of the net with a fine individual goal in the second half to put the Reds 4-1 ahead.

Arsene Wenger’s men did attempt to stage a remarkable comeback as they reduced the deficit to just one goal but it was the visitors who held on for all three points.

Mane’s debut could not have gone much better but the 24-year-old is remaining focused following the good start and hopes to keep contributing in the goal department this season.

“Jurgen was happy. That’s all. I am really happy to score my first Premier League goal for Liverpool,” he said.

“I hope I will continue to find pleasure and give pleasure on the pitch too.”

Liverpool are back in top-flight action on Saturday when they travel to Burnley, who will be aiming to bounce back from their opening-day defeat to Swansea City.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are the firm 1.53 favourites to make it two wins on the bounce, a draw is priced at 4.00 while the Clarets are the 6.00 outsiders to get their campaign up and running with a victory.

The hosts could have new signing Steven Defour in their squad while the visitors may stick with the same starting 11 that began with a win at the Emirates.
