Celtic boss Ronny Deila was quick to praise his team after their 3-1 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Deila’s men opened up a six-point gap at the top of the table thanks to a comfortable victory at Celtic Park.

Striker Leigh Griffiths grabbed a brace before James Forrest added a third to put the icing on the cake. Aberdeen’s Adam Rooney did manage to pull a goal back late on but it proved to be a mere consolation.

Deila has been under pressure recently following Celtic’s 3-1 defeat away at Molde in the UEFA Europa League.

However, the Hoops have responded brilliantly as they also beat Dundee United 5-0 last weekend. They also triumphed 2-1 over Hearts in their League Cup tie in midweek and Deila admits his side have impressed him.

“I’m very happy and proud because it has been four games in nine days and it was a very good 90 minutes where we should have scored more,”
Deila said.

“They had rested and prepared for a week and it was a better chance for them to get something. But we showed that we were the best team and now we are seven points clear of Aberdeen and that is very good as we go into November.”

Celtic will take on Molde on Thursday night and they are the 1.60 favourites to win, with the draw at 4.00, while the Norwegian outfit can be backed at odds of 5.25.
