Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes the squad are building momentum as they look to end the campaign on a positive note.

The Toffees have put in some impressive displays this season but that has not come often enough, with far too many games drawn.

Everton, who are priced at 8.00 to win the FA Cup, currently sit 11th in the Premier League, six points adrift of fifth-placed Manchester United with 12 games left to play.

Martinez watched his side secure a place in the FA quarter-finals on Saturday as they saw off Bournemouth with a 2-0 win at Vitality Stadium.

The Merseyside outfit will next welcome Guus Hiddink’s Chelsea to Stamford Bridge in the cup and Martinez is remaining optimistic.

The Spaniard, who won the FA Cup with Wigan in 2013, is hoping that his side can now start stringing some results together.

Martinez said: “Another clean sheet keeps the consistency from our last four performances.

“We look a really strong team now going into the final part of the season and I am really proud of going into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

“We will take it step by step. It was important we showed we can adapt to this game and now we want to get a really good period in the league.

“The only thing that has been missing has been wins at home and we are looking to change that.”
