Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has challenged his players to take maximum points between now and the end of the season, starting with Real Valladolid on Wednesday night.

Ancelotti’s side currently have a game in hand over rivals Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, but they know they cannot afford another slip.

Diego Simeone’s side have been in sensational form all season but they were beaten 2-0 by Levante at the weekend. Unfortunately, Real failed to take advantage and could only draw 2-2 with Valencia on Sunday night.

As it stands, Real are five points behind Atletico but Ancelotti has told his players that there can be no more poor performances.

He told reporters: “We wasted an opportunity. But Cristiano’s goal was very important because to have lost that game would have killed our chances to win the league.

“We are still in the title race. My players have the same enthusiasm and will to fight for the title until the end.

“We have three games left to play and we have to win them all. It’s not going to be easy because we will play two games away from home. We have to be ready.”

Ancelotti’s side are 1.72 to win with the draw priced at 5.82, while Valladolid can be backed at 12.09.
