Ragnar Klavan says the immaculate coaching set-up at Liverpool will become a massive advantage when the Premier League season hits the busy festive period.

Klavan moved to Liverpool in the summer from Augsburg for a reported £4.2million and the transfer fee made the defender the most expensive Estonian footballer ever.

The 31-year-old has been used sparingly so far this season with only three Premier League starts being made whilst a further two have come in the EFL Cup.

Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip’s partnership at the heart of defence has been the main reason for the lack of opportunities with the duo helping the Reds to top spot in the league.

However, the Estonia captain is not disappointed about spending time on the bench at the moment due to the fantastic chance he has been given to develop as a player.

Klavan says the training process at Liverpool is like nothing he has ever experienced and he believes the team will prosper over the coming months when the fixture list piles up.

“The amount of games we have in a season, even without being in Europe this year, is a lot and at some points you play every two or three days here,” he said in Liverpool’s magazine.

“So I think for the team it is really good to have a fluid system that means players can easily come in and out when the manager needs them to.”

Liverpool are next in action on November 19 when they travel to St Mary’s to take on a Southampton side that are finally hitting their straps under new manager Claude Puel.

The Reds, who are undefeated in their last nine league matches, are 2.00 favourites to win whilst 3.50 is the price for a draw and the Saints victory.
