Everton are reportedly edging closer to agreeing a loan deal for Manchester United’s Memphis Depay for when the January transfer window opens.

Ronald Koeman took charge of Everton in the summer, replacing the sacked Roberto Martinez, and the Dutch tactician added four new faces to the squad.

Goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye, centre-back Ashley Williams and winger Yannick Bolasie were all brought in to strengthen the squad.

The signings have made a big impact since joining but the Toffees, who are sitting seventh in the Premier League table, still look like they need reinforcements in certain areas.

Koeman appears to be close to securing another addition with reports suggesting talks regarding a loan deal for Depay are progressing very well.

The Holland international has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season under Jose Mourinho and the forward has made just four league appearances.

A switch to Everton now looks to be on the cards and the 22-year-old will be hoping to reignite his career under the guidance of his fellow Dutchman.

Koeman’s men are back in action on November 19 when they play host to relegation threatened Swansea City, who have picked up just one win this season.

Bob Bradley took charge at the Liberty Stadium on October 3, replacing Francesco Guidolin, but the American has struggled so far, having tasted defeat three times and drawn once from four matches.

The Toffees, who were thumped 5-0 by Chelsea last time out, are the firm 1.57 favourites to pick up the win, a draw is priced at 3.80 whilst the Welsh outfit are the big outsiders at 6.00.
