Paris Saint-Germain have reacted to the latest draw for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

The Ligue 1 champions that finished runners-up in their group have been drawn again by La Liga side Real Sociedad.
The Spanish club topped their group without losing a single game.

Chairman and CEO of the club, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, described the Spanish side as a fantastic club that’s well respected.
“They have a formidable team who finished first in the group and a great President who is doing a fantastic job.
“We look forward to the games in Paris and San Sebastián, which will be great occasions,” he added.
Also reacting, PSG captain Marquinhos said they will be ready for the game.

Speaking with PSG TV following the draw, the center-back pointed out that Real Sociedad are a team in good form that also won a tough group.

“I think that that shows how good they are and how we should prepare to be ready for that game, and I think that, until then, a lot will happen. We’re growing and working hard as a team, and we’ll be ready to face Real Sociedad when the time comes.”

While noting that it’s the first meeting between both teams, Marquinhos said they have a great stadium with a good atmosphere that will make the fans enjoy the trip.

“The main thing is really to perform well and to get a good result. These two games will be as big as cup finals for us, and it’ll be really important to go into them feeling ready.”

The two-legged affairs will be held in February and March 2024. PSG will first host the La Liga side at the Parc des Princes before the return leg at San Sebastian Stadium.

The first legs of the Champions League round of 16 have been scheduled to be held on the 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st of February – with the return fixtures taking place on the 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th March 2024.
