Tottenham striker Harry Kane could be in contention to make his return from injury in Saturday’s early Premier League kick off when his side head to Burnley.

The England captain sustained an ankle injury in the loss to Manchester United in the middle of last month.

The initial prognosis suggested Kane would be absent until March, but the striker’s recovery is ahead of schedule and he returned to training this week.

Kane’s return will provide a huge boost for Spurs, although they have impressed in his absence – despite being knocked out of both domestic cup competitions since his injury blow.

Spurs have won every Premier League game during his spell on the sidelines and are well placed to secure a spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The north London club are 15.00 to win the Champions League outright after beating Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg of their last-16 tie.

Spurs are 1.70 to win at Burnley on Saturday, a victory for the Clarets is 5.00 and a draw can be backed at 3.80.

Tottenham are five points behind current Premier League leaders Manchester City and Liverpool in second spot, although they do have a game in hand over the defending champions.

Spurs are 21.00 to win the Premier League outright, City are rated as the 1.62 favourites and Liverpool are 2.38.
