Tottenham captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris believes his team need to make some quick improvements before they blow their title chances and European ambitions.

Mauricio Pochettino’s troops remain in the top four after their 3-2 success over Wolves on Saturday evening.

However, Spurs were 3-0 ahead at one point and they nearly threw away all three points after late goals from Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez. The north London outfit have yet to win in the Champions League this season after defeats to Barcelona and Inter Milan, while they drew with PSV Eindhoven.

With the pressure on, Lloris admits his team have got to improve before it is too late. He said: “We need to learn.

It is not the first time this has happened in the Champions League and in the league that the opponent created chances in the last minutes of the game. It is something we need to improve. “It is the responsibility of the players.

Of course the manager has his expectations and so do the staff and I think they try to give us the main tools and then it is about our emotions, our feelings.

“If we have to play a different way, we have to play a different way. We could have managed the game in another way. At 3-0, you do not have to press. It is about communications, feelings and is more up to the players.”

Spurs are 1.40 to beat PSV on Tuesday, while the draw is 5.00 and PSV are 7.50 outsiders.
