Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has expressed confidence in the team’s forward Jadon Sancho. The former Borussia Dortmund player hasn’t been able to hit the ground running at Red Devils.
Sancho has played almost 10 matches for the club but he hasn’t been able to yet find the back of the net for his team, which has added to the team’s woes.
Sancho will like to contribute to the team’s success and take pressure off the shoulders of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood.
“Sometimes, for people, it takes time,” the left-back said while discussing Jadon Sancho’s slow start to life at Manchester United.
Shaw didn’t agree that Sancho has struggled to get going. The left-back added that his teammate is looking good in the training sessions and feels it is just a matter of time before Sancho delivers for the team.
“I wouldn’t say struggle because I don’t think he’s struggling at the moment,” said Shaw. He’s working extremely hard behind closed doors. He’s training really well, and looking really sharp. He just hasn’t had that bit of luck that sometimes you need for your first goal or first assist. But I’ve got no doubt in my mind, it’s coming.
“The talent he (Sancho) has is unbelievable he can go right to the very top. It’s just about him staying focussed, keep doing what he’s doing in training and working hard. His time will come.”
Sancho was signed by Manchester United for a whopping amount of £73 million from Borussia Dortmund.
