Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed the goalkeeping options available to him ahead of the new season.

The Reds have endured some inconsistency between the sticks in recent years but after a few issues earlier in the campaign, Simon Mignolet excelled after reclaiming his place last term from Loris Karius.

Karius himself was supposed to be the answer but he too had some poor moments and now Klopp could turn his attention to Danny Ward.

The Welshman played a key role in helping Huddersfield achieve promotion to the Premier League and now looks set to battle it out for the number one spot at Anfield.

After finishing fourth last term, Liverpool will be aiming for more in the upcoming campaign and are 12.00 to win the title, while a repeat Top-4 finish is 1.91.

The boss admits he is pleased with what he sees as an embarrassment of riches between the sticks and has urged all three of his options to show why they should start the season in goal.

Klopp told the club’s official website: “That’s very comfortable for the manager — three really good goalkeepers. It is like it is and nothing is decided.

They can all show how good they are. I don’t want to bring doubt so that they start doubting.

“They are at a fantastic club and a fantastic football club needs fantastic goalkeepers. We had a really good goalkeeping season.

“We have three goalkeepers and they can all show what they are able to do, and then we will see who will start.”
