Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed the ‘exceptional’ performance of Mohamed Salah during Liverpool’s 5-0 victory over Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Egyptian international netted four of the Reds five goals at Anfield, taking his tally for the season to 28 in the top-flight and he is now four clear of nearest rival Harry Kane at the top of the scoring charts.

The 25-year-old’s latest performance certainly impressed Klopp, who had nothing but good things to say about the player he signed from Roma last summer.

When asked about Salah, Klopp said: “He gave the answer already with four goals.

“If the question is, ‘what do I think about that?’, I think that’s quite exceptional.”

Salah’s recent displays have also yielded comparisons with some of the best players in the world, including Lionel Messi, but Klopp does not think it is right to compare his player to the Barcelona forward.

“Yes, I think Mo is on the way (to becoming one of the best players in the world),” he said.

“That’s good. I don’t think Mo wants or anybody wants to be compared with Lionel Messi.”

The Reds are also still going strong in the Champions League and they will take on Manchester City in the quarter-finals of that competition next month.
