Leicester boss Claude Puel believes interest from the Premier League’s big guns in his stars proves they are heading in the right direction.

The Frenchman has come in for criticism this season although Puel insists Leicester are progressing under his guidance.

Defender Harry Maguire is understood to be a target for Manchester United, summer capture James Maddison has been linked with Spurs while champions Manchester City have been credited with an interest in left-back Ben Chilwell.

Puel has no problems with his stars being linked with moves away – but he feels they should stick with Leicester if they want to develop further.

Puel said: “It is a good feeling to have this feedback from different teams. It works in our interest and we are raising the profile of our club.

“A lot of players in our squad develop a lot of interest in our club and this is a good feeling for me.”If we were playing poorly and didn’t have the opportunity to develop our young players, other teams would not be interested in our players.

“It is good because we develop a lot of players, not just the young players. It is good feeling for our work and for the players who give their best on the pitch. “They have made progress but they have a lot to learn – and this is the right place to do that.”

Leicester face Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture on February 23 and they are 2.20 to claim all three points. The draw is 3.30 and Palace can be backed at 3.40.
