Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has revealed he has returned to training and is close to making a return from injury.

The Germany international missed Arsenal’s goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as well as the 3-1 Europa League win over FC Koln with a knee injury.

Ozil won’t be involved against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday but could possibly be available for their home game against West Brom in the Premier League on Monday.

Arsenal are 1.36 to claim the win, West Brom can be backed at 8.50 and the draw is 5.25.

“Good news: I’m back training on the pitch,” Ozil said via an Instagram post.

“As you might have heard I’m suffering from a minor inflammation of my knee.

“Feeling better each day now and hope to be back playing very soon!”

Arsenal have managed just seven points from five Premier League games so far but their performance against Chelsea was encouraging.

Alex Iwobi has impressed in Ozil’s absence and it may take the German some time to force his way back into the side, although Danny Welbeck’s injury has opened up a space in the Gunners’ attack.

Welbeck has a groin injury and could face around a month on the sidelines. Arsenal are 21.00 to win the Premier League outright while Chelsea can be backed at 6.00.
