England defender Ben white will have his medical at Arsenal on Wednesday ahead of a 50 million pounds move to the Emirates stadium from Brighton.

A deal was agreed between Brighton and Arsenal over the weekend for the defender after the Seagulls had initially rejected £40 million and £47 million bids from the Gunners earlier.

The Three Lions defender was instrumental in Brighton’s fight to beat relegation last season as missed just two matches for Graham Potter’s side in the Premier League last season.

Brighton has subsequently added a sell-on clause in the deal for the defender’s move to North London. He was a late inclusion in the Gareth Southgate squad to the Euro 2020 where the Three Lions reach the final at Wembley losing to Italy on penalties.

Although Ben White joined Brighton in 2014, he only broke into the first team last season after going on several loan deals away from the club.

One of his loan deals was what was at Elland Road with Leeds United where he helped them reach promotion into the Premier League in 2019/2020.

Ben White has over 40 appearances for the Seagulls and he will be Mikel Arteta’s third signing this summer after signing left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica and central midfielder Albert Sombi Lokonga from Anderlecht.

Both players have since made their debut for Arsenal in the preseason games they’ve played recently including a 2-1 loss to Hibernian, 2-2 draw at Scotland, and 4-1 thrashing of Millwall.

The Gunners have not had a smooth pre-season after pulling out of the Florida cop due to COVID-19 fears. Meanwhile, they still have two preseason games against London and Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur before playing their first Premier League game of the 2021/2022 season against Brentford on the 13th of August.
