Paul Lambert hailed the performance of his Blackburn side in sweeping aside Fulham at Ewood Park and then asked them to build on the win in the weeks ahead.

Despite some encouraging recent performances in the Championship and winning form in the FA Cup, the 3-0 win over Fulham was Rovers first league win in ten games.

Ben Marshall put Blackburn in front from the penalty spot in the first half before goals from Shane Duffy and Danny Graham saw them secure am impressive victory.

Lambert was pleased with just about every aspect of the performance against the Cottagers.

“I thought the performance was fantastic,” Lambert told Radio Rovers.

“It was no more than we deserved. I thought we could have won by more but from start to finish we were excellent.”

With an FA Cup fifth round tie against Premier League side West Ham next up on Sunday, the Scot is eager to see his players build on the manner of their victory against Fulham.

Lambert felt it was a solid performance in every department and one that Blackburn should be capable of building on between now and the end of the season.

“There were some big performances out there, it would be very unfair to single out any player after a performance like that.

“We didn’t look like conceding, we were resolute and the back lads were excellent,” he added.

“Let’s see what happens from now on but if we play like that then we’ll have a right good run at it.”

Blackburn are 3.40 to defeat West Ham in the FA Cup while they are 101.00 to win the competition outright.
