Moussa Dembele believes Celtic can give themselves a chance of progressing in the Champions League if they attack teams.
The Bhoys began their campaign with a disastrous 7-0 defeat to Barcelona, a performance that gained plenty of ire form around the game due to its unambitious nature.
Brendan Rodgers went the other way for Wednesday’s visit of Manchester City, choosing to attack from the off at a vibrant Parkhead.
His bravery almost paid off, with his side going ahead on three separate occasions, only to be pegged back by the Citizens as the pair had to settle for a point apiece in a 3-3 draw.
Dembele was on the scoresheet twice as he continued his fine run since joining the Glasgow giants from Fulham in the summer.
The Frenchman missed a penalty in the Nou Camp but has not let that incident dent his confidence and has now netted five times in his last three outings.
Having seen the contrast in displays, the 20-year-old believes his side have shown they can compete in the Champions League and feels they must continue to attack their opponents if they want to have any chance of making it through.
“When I signed for Celtic I knew this team belongs to the Champions League and nights like that, fans showed us great support and I’m happy to get the result,” he said.
“When we play offensively we can cause anyone problems and that’s what we showed and what we need to do in the next games.”
Next up for the Bhoys is a trip to Dundee on Saturday, a game they are 1.22 to win, with the draw 6.50 and their opponents priced at 1.85.
