Former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko insists he is delighted to be back in England as he tries to impress West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis during his trial.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus holding midfielder is currently training with the Baggies after a spell with Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.

After linking up with the Premier League club, Sissoko played in Saturday’s 1-0 friendly win over Indian side Delhi Dynamos, alongside fellow triallist Marouane Chamakh.

Sissoko was a crowd favourite at Anfield during his spell with Liverpool and he is desperate to play on Merseyside again, hopefully with West Brom.

Pulis is set to sit down and talk with the 31-year-old at the end of this week and Sissoko is hoping he has done enough to impress and be given the chance to play in the Premier League once again.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: “I have a lot of good memories from my time at Liverpool.

“It was a great time in my career and I hope I can go back there with West Brom or another club and enjoy some good moments with my ex-team. “I feel good.

I was really happy to play for 60 minutes at The Hawthorns and I am confident I can do well here.

It’s been a long time since I left England. I’ll be here with West Brom this week and we’ll see what happens after that.

“The manager has told me just to come and enjoy it and then we’ll sit down and talk about my future.

But I’m really happy to back with a club in one of the best league’s in the world and I hope I can stay here.”
