Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has urged his players to follow up their victory over Manchester City and produce a solid performance when they travel to Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues moved back into the top four last weekend thanks to a superb 2-0 win against City at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had lost to Wolves just three days before their win over City but Sarri wants his team to improve their consistency. Sarri’s men were held to a draw in midweek by Vidi in the Europa League but the former Napoli coach is expected to field a stronger team at the AMEX Stadium.

Sarri knows his team will be put through their paces and he has demanded another win as the Blues try to stay in the title race. He told reporters: “For us it is a very important match.

We need to confirm our motivation and determination like we showed in the last match. “We need these qualities with continuity because every match is three points. We need to improve, improve a lot.

“I agree this match for us is really very important. Maybe it is the most important in this season at this moment.” Spain international Alvaro Morata could miss out with a knee problem sustained in Budapest but Kepa Arrizabalaga, Antonio Rudiger, Eden Hazard, Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante are poised to return.

Brighton remain the 8.00 outsiders, with the draw 4.33, while Chelsea are the heavy favourites at odds of 1.44. Chelsea are also 2.00 to win the first half but Chris Hughton’s men will be doing all they can to upset the party.
