New Blackburn Rovers forward Marvin Emnes admits he is already feeling more positive about his game after completing a loan move from Swansea until January.
The former Middlesbrough striker was out of the first-team picture at the Liberty Stadium before he became Owen Coyle’s 12th and final signing of the summer after agreeing a move until January 15.
Emnes was linked with a move to Leeds United to work under former boss Garry Monk but he decided to move to Ewood Park last month.
The Dutchman is set to make his debut in Saturday’s trip to Queens Park Rangers and any action will see him play for the first time since March.
Despite a lack of game time, Emnes insists he feels good about the move and is now determined to force his way into Coyle’s plans on a regular basis.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It’s been difficult, hard and busy, taking phone calls day in and day out, trying to make a decision.
“But I’ve made my decision now and I feel really good about it. I just want to get playing again. If you don’t get a chance when you think you deserve it, it’s quite difficult and hard.
“I just had to get on with it and now I’ve got a new chance and I’m happy with that.
“It’s always a good thing if the manager wants you to come and play for him as it means you are going to play games. Now it’s up to me to work hard, enjoy it, and get into the team.”
