Blackburn full-back Markus Olsson is desperate to help the Rovers secure a Premier League return.

Olsson, who made his 100th appearance for the club prior to the international break, feels Blackburn’s FA Cup run last season proves they have players who can compete at the top level.

Rovers dumped out Stoke and Swansea before falling to Liverpool in the quarter-finals and that experience has given Olsson a desire to help Blackburn return to the Premier League.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I would love to play Premier League football again with Blackburn.

“You could see how much it meant to the fans and to the players as well when we played against Premier League teams last season.

“We put that extra shift in and we did really well against good teams. Not just any Premier League teams, but top-10 teams in Stoke, Swansea and Liverpool.

“We did well in all of those games and you could see the boys showed we want to be playing at that level.

“And I think we showed as a team we can play at that level but to get that chance we need to be consistent as a team to get that promotion.”

Blackburn are currently 15th in the Championship table with just two wins in 10 games to date but they are still only seven points adrift of the play-off places.

The Ewood Park outfit travel to MK Dons on Saturday and they can be backed at 2.40 to claim all three points, or 21.00 to be promoted.
