Mark Noble has urged his West Ham team-mates to stay positive despite their poor start to the campaign.
Following some strong performances last season and their move to the London Stadium, the Hammers were tipped to move to the next level this term but have so far failed to ignite.
With just one win from four Premier League games, and having already been knocked out of Europe, Slaven Bilic’s side look like a team in crisis.
Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Watford was their worst performance of the season so far and, having shone in the opening 40 minutes, two goals late in the first half led to them capitulating after the break.
The performance led to plenty of frustration from their fans and they will be hoping to bounce back on Saturday away at West Brom.
Bilic’s men are 2.88 to win at the Hawthorns, with the draw 3.10 and the Baggies 2.63.
Noble himself had a rare off day on Saturday but says the squad must stay positive despite their poor display against Watford.
The skipper says there is still plenty of time to transform their season, especially with the recent returns from injury of the likes of Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini.
“There is a long way to go and we have to stay positive,” he told the club’s official website. “We got punished and have to learn our lessons.
We have still got new players coming in learning the league and we have a lot of players in their second season. “We have got players coming back from injury like Manu and Dimi.
We have got to take the positives and played fantastic in the first half, but we conceded silly goals.”
