Manager Antonio Conte believes Chelsea’s performances will only get better after his side recorded a hard-fought 2-0 victory away at Hull City on Saturday.

Chelsea arrived at the KCOM Stadium on a three-game winless run in the Premier League and in desperate need of three points to get their title challenge back on track.

The Blues were thumped 3-0 by Arsenal last time out but they bounced back in good fashion after easing to a comfortable away win against the Tigers.

Willian opened the scoring with a brilliant finish in the 61st minute before Diego Costa picked out the same top-right corner to double the advantage just six minutes later.

Conte’s men have now moved to within a point of the Champions League places and the momentum has returned to the former English champions.

The international break may have come at the wrong time for the Blues but they will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins when they return to action on October 15.

A home clash against defending champions Leicester City is next up and the hosts are the 1.53 favourites, with a draw priced at 4.00 while the Foxes are the 5.50 outsiders.

Conte says Saturday’s display was pleasing but he expects the players to get better with every match whilst praising their work-rate on and off the pitch.

“I saw many of the players with great commitment, attitude and will to change the situation. I am pleased for them,” he said. “We are working very hard and I am sure we can improve a lot if we continue to work in this way.”

Chelsea have a crucial couple of months coming their way with league games against Manchester United, Southampton and Everton following the Leicester contest.
