Jose Mourinho believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan has all the attributes to make an immediate impact at Manchester United.

The Armenian’s move to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund was finally confirmed on Wednesday and he joins fellow new arrivals Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Red Devils’ improved squad.

United have been missing a genuine ball-playing midfielder over the last few years but may have found their man in the exciting Mkhitaryan.

The 27-year-old netted 11 times for Dortmund last term but, perhaps more impressively, created an incredible 82 chances in his 31 Bundesliga appearances.

United will be hoping for a similar impact this season and the former Shakhtar Donetsk man will be crucial as Mourinho looks to inject an attacking edge to the Red Devils, who were much derided for their predictable style of play under former boss Louis van Gaal.

The Portuguese coach believes the Armenian will have no problems settling into the Premier League and has backed him to make a significant impact at Old Trafford.

“Henrikh is a very talented footballer who has been in such prolific form for both his club and his country,” he told the club’s official website.

“He is a real team player with great skill, vision and also has a good eye for goal. I am delighted he has chosen to sign for United.

“I believe he will make an impact on the team very quickly as his style of play is suited to the Premier League. We are all looking forward to working with him.”

United are currently 5.00 to win the 2016/17 Premier League, with a top-four finish for the Red Devils priced at 1.50.
