Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has warned his team-mates that they must not underestimate Celtic when the two sides go head-to-head in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Citizens will head to Glasgow in confident mood as they have won all ten of their competitive matches under new boss Pep Guardiola, a run of form that includes a 4-0 triumph over Borussia Monchengladbach on Matchday One of this season’s Champions League.

Celtic, by contrast, were comprehensively beaten 7-0 by Barcelona in their opening group stage match at the Camp Nou, but Argentina international Zabaleta expects Brendan Rodgers’ side to put in a much improved showing on Wednesday night.

“People are saying that Celtic are the weakest team of the group but, believe me, we know it’s going to be really hard because they’re a really strong team when they play at home,” Zabaleta was quoted by The Mirror.

Zabaleta, who came on as a second-half substitute during the Citizens 3-1 Premier League success at Swansea on Saturday, admits he is looking forward to playing at Celtic Park and insists his side will be fully prepared for the encounter. He continued: “It’s going to be a totally different game in Glasgow.

I’m really looking forward to playing at Celtic Park because I have never been there before and the boys who have played there tell me the atmosphere is fantastic.

“It’s going to be tough – we know that – but the manager will prepare us like he always does.”

Manchester City are available at 1.33 to secure a victory in Glasgow, while Celtic are on offer 8.00 and the draw is priced at 5.25.
