Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has set his sights on securing a victory when his side take on Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Spaniard spent four years as manager of the Catalans giants, twice guiding them to glory in Europe’s premier club competition in 2009 and 2011.

The 45-year-old will now return to Camp Nou with City, and he is aware his current side will face a tough test in Catalonia, but he is heading into the match looking for all three points.

“I have never thought about the next game thinking a draw would be a good result,” said Guardiola.

City are currently two points behind Barca in the group standings, after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Celtic last time out, and Guardiola believes the draw in Glasgow has put added pressure on his side ahead of Wednesday’s match.

He continued: “Of course it is complicated. No win in Glasgow means we have to take points off Barcelona there or here [at the Etihad], and especially in Germany [against Borussia Monchengladbach] as well. “We have four games left, we have to win two.

We have to make six points to be in the next step. We are going to try to win the first points in the next game. That is sure.”

City have lost all four of their previous meetings with Barca, including a 1-0 defeat at Camp Nou in March 2015, but they are available at 6.00 to secure all three points on Wednesday, while the hosts are priced at 1.53 and the draw is on offer at 4.50.
