Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius believes Monday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United at Anfield represents the most significant match of his career to date.

The German under-21 international joined the Reds from Mainz during the summer, but he missed the start of the campaign due to a broken hand.

The 23-year-old has played the last three matches for Jurgen Klopp’s side since recovering from that injury, and he appears to be in line to start once again in Monday’s match with the Red Devils.

Karius, who has yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League, admits that Monday’s clash probably represents the biggest test of his career, but he is confident his side can gain a positive result.

When asked if the clash with United would be the most significant outing of his career Karius told Sky Sports: “Probably. With all the history of both clubs, the rivalry, it’s a very big match.

“It’s always hard to say which is the biggest but it’s a really big match. Manchester United has a good, strong team but we have a great team and we play at home.”

The Merseysiders are unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions, winning the last five, and they can move to the top of the league standings with a comprehensive victory over their North West rivals.

Liverpool are available at 2.20 to secure a victory in the match, while United are priced at 3.50 and the draw is on offer at 3.40.
