Lionel Messi has his sights set on the Copa America title with Argentina after helping Barcelona win the treble.

Messi has won 24 titles with the Catalan giants, including the 2014-15 Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey trophies, but he has just one for his national side from the 2008 Olympic Games.

The 27-year-old is desperate to secure the 2015 Copa America crown with La Albiceleste, who lost the 2014 World Cup final to Germany.

He said: “Our aim is to win this year. It’s great to play with the national team, to wear the shirt and to be captain, but getting a title would be the ultimate for me.”

Argentina last won the Copa America in 1993 and can be backed to end their trophy drought and claim the 2015 title at 2.88, while Brazil are 3.80 and Colombia are 6.50.

Argentina have been drawn in Group B alongside Uruguay, Paraguay and Jamaica, who are making their first appearance in the tournament.

Messi’s side open their Copa America account against Paraguay on June 13 at the Estadio La Portada in Chile, with the top two teams from each group securing a place in the knockout stages, while two third-placed teams will also reach the next phase of the tournament.

Messi is 4.20 to be the Copa America’s top goalscorer, with Argentina team-mate Sergio Aguero 9.50.
