Southampton captain Adam Lallana has insisted he is happy at the club amid rumours linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester United.

David Moyes had been reported to be preparing a January bid for the 25-year-old to bolster the Red Devils squad; however the speculation looks to have been quashed after the England international admitted he is enjoying life at the club.

“I can’t express how happy I am at the club. I am so settled. Settled at home with a young child and my family live down here,” he said.

“I don’t think I am too comfortable either, I get challenged week in week out playing in the Premier League. It is where you want to be as a player.

“I am delighted and as happy as I have ever been here playing for Southampton with one of the best managers in the league.”

Lallana has enjoyed a successful campaign so far in the Premier League, scoring four goals and becoming an integral part of the side in ninth place in the table on 27 points.

The midfielder, who was involved in the 3-0 victory over Cardiff City on Boxing Day, is likely to start in the game against Everton on Sunday with a win potentially closing the gap to Manchester United and Tottenham to one point depending on results.
