Atletico Madrid Face Sevilla as Race for La Liga Title Continues

Atletico Madrid continued arrays for the La Liga title on Tuesday with a game against a server at the Wanda Metropolitano.

It is Diego Simeone’s men the first game since their knockout in the hands of lower league side Cornella in the Copa Del Ray on the 6th of January.

Their La Liga tie at the weekend against Atletico Bilbao was called off due to weather conditions although their rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid had their games against Granada and Osasuna go on with the Barcelona winning 4-0 and Real Madrid Drew 0-0 at Osasuna.

Atletico Madrid are top of the La Liga table with 38 points are from 15 games, and they have three games in hand compared to Real Madrid who has played 18 matches but is one point behind their city rivals.

Granada would face Osasuna in the second game on Tuesday in the La Liga. Osasuna who are in 19th position with 15 points from 17 games played will hope to get a victory after holding Real Madrid at home last weekend.

On Monday two matches were played in the La Liga, and the first game saw Elche hosting Getafe, the visitors won the match 3-1 although the home side ended the game with ten men.

Raul Guti had given the home side a 4th-minute lead, but Cucu equalised for the visitors six minutes before half time.

Ivan Marcone was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 52nd minute, and Jaime Mata made it 2-1 before an Angel penalty four minutes from time sealed the win.

Two second-half goals from Real Betis secured a 2-0 win over Huesca. After a goalless and a less eventful first half, the visitors led through Aissa Mandi in the 78th minute before Antonio Sanabria ensured a win for the visitors in the 90th minute.
