Kevin Mirallas has called on his Everton side to use the momentum they gained from Sunday’s 4-0 win over Manchester City to help them climb the Premier League table.

The Toffees have endured a mixed campaign to date as after an excellent start saw them tipped for a top-four finish, their subsequent inconsistencies led to them dropping down the standings.

However, it all came together on Sunday when goals from Romelu Lukaku and Mirallas gave them a convincing lead before late strikes from youngsters Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman sealed a morale-boosting win at Goodison Park.

The result left Everton seventh in the table and although they remain seven points behind sixth-placed Manchester United, a run of four wins from their last six Premier League outings hints that they may now be getting their act together.

Next up for Ronald Koeman’s men is a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday and they will be confident of continuing their form against the struggling south Londoners.

The Toffees are 2.30 to win in the capital, with the draw 3.20 while the Eagles are priced at 3.10.

Mirallas’ improvement has been a feature of his side’s recent showings and he will again be looking to shine at Selhurst Park.

The Belgian says they set themselves a benchmark on Sunday and believes more performances like the one against City will only boost their chances of closing the gap on the top six.

“The most important thing is we continue like that,” he said.

“We have to go to Crystal Palace on Saturday. That is a difficult game but if we play the same we win.”
