In-demand Malaga playmaker Isco revealed that he is set to leave the club this summer and will reveal his destination in the next “seven days”.

Manchester City were thought to be leading the race to land his services, particularly having appointed his former manager, Manuel Pellegrini, in the Etihad Stadium hot-seat last week.

The Chilean tactician has penned a three-year deal at the club and City will be hoping that he can persuade the Malaga ace to follow him to the club, although there is the small matter of beating off interest from Real Madrid.

Isco’s stock has been steadily rising over recent seasons and Real will be keen to secure Spain’s top talent to the Bernabeu, particularly as they will be looking to give their new manager the strength of squad to challenge on all fronts next term.

Isco has remained tight-lipped on his summer plans but has revealed that all will be revealed in the coming days.

“In seven days I will decide my future,” Isco said. “After the U21 Euros I will analyse my situation and make the best choice for my future.

“At the moment I am calm and focused on my work with the national team.

“City or Madrid? I can’t say. Pellegrini is a great coach, though, of that there is no question.”

Isco will be hoping to make his announcement on the back of a successful European Under-21 Championships, having scored in the 3-0 win over Norway which set up a final date with Italy on Tuesday.
