Inter Milan new boy Jeison Murillo says winning Serie A must be his side’s main goal for the upcoming season.

The Colombian recently arrived from Spanish outfit Granada and is one of a number of new faces to have been brought in by boss Roberto Mancini in a bid to reinvigorate the squad.

Defenders Miranda and Martin Montoya have also both come in from Spain, while Geoffrey Kondogbia will add power in midfield and Stevan Jovetic creativity in attack.

Since winning the treble in 2010, the Nerazzurri have struggled to make a significant impact either at home or abroad, with the board initially failing to replenish the ailing side that Jose Mourinho guided to glory. However, having experienced a huge turnover in players in recent seasons, they could now be on the verge of something special.

Defending champions Juventus remain the team to beat in Italy and are currently the heavy 1.53 favourites to win a fifth straight Scudetto.

However, with no European football to worry about, Inter, who are available at 13.00 to win the title, will be able to stay fresh throughout the season.

Boss Mancini will also bring extra confidence, having guided the club to three straight Serie A titles during his previous tenure.

Murillo admits Juve are rightly the favourites to top the standings but says Inter’s stature means they should not fear anyone this season.

Juventus are a very strong team, and are the most important Italian football side,” he told Mediaset Premium. “But I think when we talk about Inter, we talk about a very big club.

“The Scudetto? The club is used to winning titles and this must be the goal.”
