Arsene Wenger feels that Arsenal are currently looking more convincing away from the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners beat Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday 4-1.

They have also swept aside Watford at Vicarage Road last month while Wenger felt they easily could have come out with victory in a scoreless draw at champions Leicester in August.

At home, Arsenal were ravaged by Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season while they needed a stoppage time penalty from Santi Cazorla to get past Southampton last week. “We scored three at Watford, we scored four against Hull.

We played 0-0 at Leicester, but we had two or three opportunities. Away from home we look more convincing at the moment than at home,” said Wenger.

Losing 4-3 to Liverpool in the manner they did was a sharp shock for Arsenal, admits Wenger.

There is often an edgy atmosphere at the Emirates when the home side struggles but the manager says it is up to his players to give the supporters reasons to be confident – not the other way around.

“I believe that, when we lost our first game, it was a mental shock for us and for our supporters. Straight away you have a little bit of scepticism and doubt, you know, in your head,” he added. “Look, the positivity comes from us, from our attitude.

We have to think that we get the supporters behind us, when our performances are convincing and not the other way around.”

Arsenal currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, five points behind pacesetting Manchester City.

Chelsea are next up at the Emirates, with Arsenal priced at 2.30 to claim three points. The Blues are 3.00 while the draw is 3.25.
