Fulham have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new campaign after signing Adel Taarabt from Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan deal.
The talented 24-year-old has been keen to return to the Premier League after the R’s were relegated last season and has now got his wish after the Cottagers agreed a deal.
The Morocco international admits it was a tough decision to leave Loftus Road but says he needs to be playing in the top flight of English football and Fulham is the perfect move for him.
“This was a difficult decision for me, but at this stage of my career I feel I need to be playing at the top level,” he said.
“I hope the fans understand my decision and I really hope to return to Loftus Road one day.”
Cottagers bos Martin Jol knows the player well, having signed him as a teenager when he was in charge at White Hart Lane, and is delighted to have landed his man as the club target a top 10 finish.
QPR have said that the loan deal will ‘suit both parties’ but the loss of Taarabt will still be something of a blow as they attempt to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
